About the Role

Are you a licensed (or license-eligible) clinician looking to make a meaningful impact through evidence-based therapy? We're seeking a dedicated Counselor to provide clinical assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions to clients and families.

In this role, you'll deliver evidence-based psychotherapy, coordinate care across systems, respond to crises, and support clients of diverse ages and backgrounds — all while collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary team and upholding the highest standards of clinical documentation and ethics.

What You'll Do

Assessment & Diagnostic Evaluation

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and clinical interviews
• Identify mental health disorders using DSM-5-TR criteria within your scope of licensure
• Assess client strengths, trauma history, risk factors, and functional impairments
• Develop diagnostic impressions and communicate findings to clients and treatment teams

Treatment Planning

• Create individualized, measurable treatment plans based on assessment outcomes
• Collaboratively establish treatment goals with clients and/or families
• Regularly review and update treatment plans to reflect progress and changing needs
• Coordinate treatment planning with case managers, medical providers, schools, and other supports

Therapeutic Intervention

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs
• Conduct regular psychotherapy sessions with clients across the lifespan
• Facilitate family therapy sessions to improve communication and address relational or behavioral concerns
• Offer crisis assessment, de-escalation, and stabilization support
• Develop safety plans with clients and caregivers; coordinate emergency or crisis services per agency protocol

Collaboration & Care Coordination

• Communicate professionally with caregivers, case managers, school personnel, probation officers, psychiatrists, and other providers
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, IEP/504 meetings when requested, and case consultations
• Make referrals to outside agencies and community resources as needed
• Support clients in self-advocacy, independent problem solving, and navigating systems

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate progress notes for each session
• Maintain client records in accordance with Medicaid, IDAPA, and agency requirements
• Document changes in symptoms, interventions used, risk assessments, and progress toward goals
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality laws, professional ethics, and agency policies

Advocacy & Client Support

• Advocate for client needs within educational, judicial, medical, and community systems
• Identify and help mitigate barriers impacting treatment success
• Provide psychoeducation to families, schools, and community partners

Professional Standards & Development

• Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and supervision sessions
• Maintain active licensure, supervision hours (if applicable), and continuing education credits
• Adhere to professional codes of ethics and deliver culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate care
• Participate in community mental health initiatives, workshops, or support groups as assigned

What You'll Bring

• Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
• Active clinical license (LPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW, etc.) or enrollment in an accredited graduate internship program
• Strong diagnostic and assessment skills using DSM-5-TR criteria
• Competence in evidence-based therapeutic models and crisis intervention
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent written documentation and time-management skills
• Commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practice

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
