Ashley Hall seeks a full-time English teacher for grades 5-8. The position is anticipated to begin approximately September 2026 through December, 2026. The candidate will be responsible for teaching two sections of 6th Grade English, one section of 7th Grade English, and a Middle School “Design Studio” elective class. Additionally, the candidate will act as an 8th Grade Advisor.

Major Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for this position must be able to:
- Teach English Language and Literature using a modular, inquirybased, and projectbased approach that emphasizes the following skills: reading comprehension, writing development, and vocabulary and grammar acquisition.
- Foster creativity and independent thinking in the classroom.
- Follow lesson and unit plans; adhering to the course pacing framework provided by the teacher of record.
- Cultivate a caring classroom environment that supports the academic progress and socioemotional development of each student.
- Communicate with parents, as necessary, about students’ progress, including maintaining schoolhome partnerships for successful student support.
- Maintain a gradebook and submit comments/grades in accordance with the division’s academic schedule.
- Act as an academic advisor for a group of eighth grade students.
- Remain faithful to departmental and divisional priorities.
- Collaborate with other faculty in grades 58 according to the International
- Ancillary duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The most competitive candidates will offer the following qualifications and qualities:
- Minimum of 3 years of English Language, Literature, or equivalent teaching experience
- 3 years of teaching experience working with middle school students, specifically those in grades 68, is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree (required) or Master's degree (preferred) in English, Middle School Education, or Secondary Education. Interest in and proficiency with developmentallyappropriate strategies for teaching middle school aged children.
- Commitment to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team.
