Position Summary

The Supervisor plays a hands-on leadership role, supporting daily classroom operations, mentoring staff, and maintaining compliance with DSS requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom & Student Support
- Assist Early School classrooms during extended day hours
- Support transitions, routines, and developmentally appropriate student engagement
- Help manage behavior and provide coverage during breaks, transitions, or emergencies
- Staff Support & Daily Operations
- Support extended day teachers with classroom needs
- Provide guidance and onthespot assistance to staff
- Assume leadership responsibilities during the Director’s absence, as needed
- Attendance, Safety & Compliance
- Assist with daily attendance and student dismissal procedures
- Support DSS compliance, ratios, and required documentation
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment
- Supplies & Snacks
- Assist with organizing and distributing classroom materials
- Support snack preparation and distribution as needed
- Approximately 80% mobility (standing/moving) within classrooms
- Up to 50% bending and lifting; able to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and remain active for up to 6 hours/day
- Reasonable accommodations provided for qualified individuals with disabilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six months’ experience in a DSSlicensed early childhood program
- Familiarity with DSS regulations and early childhood best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and staff
- Professional and calm communication style, including with parents
- Strong organizational skills and sound independent judgment
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment
- Previous experience supporting or supervising staff preferred
- Must meet all DSS background check and compliance requirements
