Project Accountant – North Miami, FL
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join a growing organization in North Miami. This role is ideal for someone with strong construction/project accounting experience and hands-on expertise with Sage 300 (Timberline).
Position Summary
The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of multiple construction projects, including job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project-level accounting, including job costing, budget tracking, and cost analysis
- Monitor project financial performance, including revenues, expenses, and profitability
- Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
- Process and track accounts payable and receivable related to projects
- Handle AIA billing, progress billings, and lien waivers
- Collaborate with project managers to review budgets, forecasts, and financial status
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy of data within Sage 300 (Timberline)
- Assist with audit support and maintain compliance with internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of construction or project accounting experience
- Sage 300 (Timberline) experience required
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred
- Experience working with general contractors or subcontractors
- Familiarity with percentage-of-completion accounting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
