Ascendo Resources is partnering with a well-established law firm in Charlotte, NC that is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Paralegal to support its Business Litigation and Employment practice groups. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team in a dynamic legal environment!
About the Role:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours/day), with occasional overtime as needed. This will be onsite for the first 90 days and then eligible for hybrid work.
Responsibilities:
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and employment-related filings
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and experts on litigation and employment matters
- Review and summarize depositions, personnel files, and discovery materials
- Assist with trial preparation and provide in-court support, including managing electronic presentations, coordinating witnesses, and organizing exhibits
- Manage e-discovery databases and electronic employment records
- Assist with document productions in litigation and regulatory matters
- Conduct legal and internet research on business and employment law issues
- Prepare and manage electronic filings in federal and state courts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in business litigation and/or employment law (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Proficiency with legal time and billing systems
- Large case management and trial experience strongly preferred
- Experience with eDiscovery software preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with trial presentation software preferred
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues during busy periods
- Proficiency in federal and state electronic filing systems
