Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller

About the Opportunity

A growing privately held organization is seeking a hands-on accounting professional to support executive leadership and oversee day-to-day financial operations. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior management, manage multiple entities, and contribute to a variety of accounting and business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and general bookkeeping functions.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with financial statement review, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Maintain and organize digital financial records and documentation.
• Oversee accounting activities for affiliated business entities.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to manage financial data and reporting.
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Provide administrative and operational support as needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or controllership experience.
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience preparing financial reports, balance sheets, and P&L statements.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable learning and utilizing emerging technologies and AI tools.
• Ability to work independently in a small, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within real estate, construction, development, or related industries.
• Financial modeling experience.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
