Position Summary
The Program Case Management Specialist provides participant-centered support within the workforce development program at Ascending Knowledge. This role is responsible for assisting participants in navigating program requirements, addressing barriers to completion, and ensuring consistent engagement throughout the training program.
Working closely with the Workforce Program Manager, the specialist helps track participant progress, maintain documentation, and connect participants with supportive services that promote academic success, job readiness, and long-term employment outcomes. This role plays a key part in strengthening participant retention and ensuring individuals are equipped with the tools needed to successfully transition into employment or apprenticeship opportunities.
Key ResponsibilitiesParticipant Support & Case Management
- Provide case management support to program participants from enrollment through program completion.
- Conduct regular check-ins with participants to assess progress, identify barriers, and provide support.
- Develop individualized participant support plans when challenges arise.
- Connect participants with supportive resources such as transportation assistance, childcare resources, tutoring, or community services.
Program Monitoring & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and confidential participant records and case notes.
- Track participant attendance, engagement, and program milestones.
- Assist with collecting required documentation for program compliance and reporting.
- Support the Workforce Program Manager with participant progress reporting and follow-up.
Participant Engagement
- Encourage consistent attendance and active participation in program activities.
- Support participants in building professional readiness skills such as communication, time management, and accountability.
- Reinforce program expectations and help participants stay aligned with program goals.
Collaboration & Program Support
- Work collaboratively with program staff, instructors, and partners to ensure participants receive coordinated support.
- Participate in team meetings to review participant progress and identify intervention strategies when needed.
- Assist with workshops, program events, or participant orientations as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Workforce Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Candidates with significant relevant experience in case management, workforce development, or community services are encouraged to apply in lieu of a formal degree.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in case management, workforce development, social services, or participant support roles.
- Experience working with underserved or diverse populations strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to support participants with empathy while maintaining accountability
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple participants and track progress effectively
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or basic data tracking systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Work Schedule
- Part-time position not to exceed 20 hours per week.
- Schedule may include some flexibility based on participant needs and program activities.
- Position is fully onsite in office with some opportunity for community outreach
Compensation
- Hourly rate commensurate with experience
