Program Manager
Position Overview
The Program Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and
delivery of organizational programs and services. This role ensures that daily program
operations run smoothly, participants receive high-quality support, and staff are equipped
to meet performance goals. The Program Manager works closely with the Associate
Director and Executive Director to strengthen service delivery, track outcomes, and
maintain alignment with the mission and vision of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Oversight
- Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned programs to ensure effectiveness
and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Supervise and support program staff (facilitators, case managers, intake
specialists, etc.) with coaching, guidance, and accountability.
- Coordinate program activities, workshops, and services to ensure they are
delivered on schedule and at a high standard of quality.
- Monitor program progress, identify challenges, and recommend solutions to
strengthen outcomes.
Partnerships & Community Engagement
- Maintain positive relationships with community partners, schools, workforce
agencies, and other stakeholders connected to program services.
- Represent the organization at relevant program-related meetings, community
events, or coalitions as assigned.
- Help expand resources and opportunities for participants through collaborative
partnerships.
Staff Development & Supervision
- Lead regular team check-ins and provide ongoing communication to keep staff
informed and aligned.
- Offer coaching and mentoring to staff to strengthen their skills in service delivery
and participant engagement.
- Track staff performance and provide feedback in collaboration with the Associate
Director.
- Foster a supportive, mission-driven team culture focused on results and participant
success.
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure program procedures comply with organizational policies, funder
requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee accurate and timely collection of program data, case notes, and reporting.
- Assist in preparing reports for funders, partners, and internal leadership.
- Monitor program expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Strategic & Administrative Support
- Support the Associate Director and Executive Director in planning, evaluation, and
program improvement initiatives.
- Contribute feedback to grant proposals, reports, and presentations as needed.
- Provide leadership coverage in the absence of the Associate Director or Executive
Director when directed.
- Participate in organizational planning sessions to ensure programs align with long-
term goals.
Qualifications
- Experience in program management, workforce development, education, social
services, or community-based organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, manage operations, and deliver participant-
focused results.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of compliance standards, reporting requirements, and data tracking in
nonprofit programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, education, public
administration, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
