Position Overview
We are a hyper growth start up seeking a hands on Senior Accountant to support the general ledger and overall accounting operations. This position is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams and leadership, contributing to process development and supporting the company as it scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Own key components of the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy while identifying and resolving variances
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger, including proper classification of transactions and adherence to accounting policies
- Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations to management as needed
- Review expenses and supporting documentation to ensure accurate coding and alignment with internal policies
- Partner with cross-functional teams to investigate discrepancies, clarify transactions, and improve operational workflows
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation
- Assist in building and refining accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls in a growing environment
- Contribute to ad hoc reporting, special projects, and system or process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger exposure
- In-depth understanding of month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
- Experience working with ERP systems and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Technical accounting expertise in ASC 606 - highly preferred
- Inventory and cost accounting experience - highly preferred
Salary : $50 - $60
