General Overview
The Contracts Administrator II is a mid-level professional responsible for managing and administering contracts throughout their lifecycle, including preparation, review, negotiation support, and compliance monitoring. This role builds on foundational contract administration experience to independently handle standard agreements, support complex contracts, and ensure alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements.
The Contracts Administrator II works closely with project managers, legal counsel, finance, and external clients or vendors to facilitate contract execution and maintain accurate documentation. This position also contributes to process improvements and may provide guidance to junior staff.
This position reports to the VP.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and administer contracts, subcontracts, and agreements in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Support contract negotiations by coordinating revisions, tracking changes, and ensuring proper documentation.
Monitor contract compliance, deliverables, and key terms, including deadlines, renewals, and obligations.
Maintain organized contract files, databases, and tracking systems.
Coordinate with project managers, finance, and legal teams to ensure contract alignment with project scope, budgets, and timelines.
Identify and escalate contractual risks, discrepancies, or non-compliance issues.
Assist in developing and implementing contract administration procedures, templates, and best practices.
Track and report on contract status, metrics, and key performance indicators.
Support audits and reviews by providing contract documentation and responding to inquiries.
Provide guidance and support to Contracts Administrator I or junior staff as needed.
Skills/Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, or related field
2-5 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, or related field
Strong understanding of contract administration principles, terms, and lifecycle management.
Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to contracts.
Ability to review and interpret contract language and identify risks or discrepancies.
Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in contract management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements – Work Environment
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and document review.
Ability to lift and carry light materials or files (typically up to 20–25 pounds).

This position requires employees to work in an ARRO office on a regular basis.
