Title: CBCAP Program Specialist

Duration

40 hours per week with option to extend, not to exceed 12 months total.

Description

The CBCAP Program Specialist will provide coordination for the development, implementation, and support of programs, projects, and initiatives focused on family support and prevention services.

This position supports priority populations identified through federal legislation addressing the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Responsibilities include identifying community and system-level needs affecting parents, children with disabilities, racial and ethnic minority populations, underserved or underrepresented groups, fathers, homeless families, unaccompanied homeless youth, and adult former victims of child abuse, neglect, or domestic violence.

The position supports the implementation and growth of the Family Support Network and provides assistance to funded and non-funded entities seeking network membership. The role is also responsible for coordinating program-funded training, supporting grant deliverables, and collaborating with internal and national, state, and local partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Public Health, Education, or another equivalent field.
  • Two years of work and/or educational experience focused on services for children and families, infant/early childhood mental health, family resource centers, project management, health equity, social determinants of health, community health, community engagement, classroom management, or equivalent experience.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Training Coordination Become a trained trainer for at least one supported training program and coordinate training schedules, trainers, deliverables, and statewide engagement activities.
  • Network Support Collaborate with program coordinators and partners to support ongoing implementation, outreach, and growth of the family support network.
  • Conduct statewide engagement efforts with potential partners and provide presentations as requested.
  • Facilitate monthly network meetings and provide direct support to network members.
  • Collect required data and prepare reports and documents related to program activities, annual reports, funding applications, and program plans.
  • Coordinate and maintain records according to agency and program records management requirements.
  • Perform program planning, development, evaluation, and support activities.
  • Develop program-related reports to identify best practices and programming activities.
  • Perform communication, outreach, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support the development and sustainability of Parent Advisory Committees and other parent engagement initiatives.
  • Support training and implementation of family strengthening and support standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organize and support Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement activities.
  • Develop and distribute program communication materials.
  • Develop and maintain program policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate to develop training schedules on at least a quarterly basis.
  • Support active participation with national family support organizations and partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Valued Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of spelling, punctuation, business English, business mathematics, modern office methods, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of maintaining complex records and major policies and procedures governing assigned programs.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage contracts within grant guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and resolve complex administrative and contracting issues.
  • Experience using Excel spreadsheets for budget preparation and expenditure analysis.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Requires the ability to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Requires extended periods of sitting and daily use of a computer and phone.
  • Telework may be considered for a portion of the role based on employee skills, abilities, organizational policy, and supervisor discretion.
