Position Summary
The Dual Language Kindergarten Teacher provides high-quality instruction in Spanish and English, fostering students' academic, linguistic, and social-emotional development. The teacher creates a language-rich environment that develops early literacy, oral language, and foundational academic skills while supporting students on the path to bilingualism and biliteracy.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver standards-aligned instruction in accordance with the school's Dual Language Program model.
• Implement district-approved curriculum, including ARC Español, Estrellita/Lunita, and EnVision Mathematics.
• Develop students' literacy and language skills in Spanish and English.
• Use assessment data to monitor progress and inform instruction.
• Establish strong classroom routines, procedures, and expectations.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues through CPT, PLCs, coaching cycles, and professional development.
• Build strong partnerships with families and participate in schoolwide initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
• Massachusetts Elementary Teacher License or eligibility for licensure.
• Bilingual Endorsement or willingness to obtain the endorsement.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and strong English communication skills.
• Commitment to bilingualism, biliteracy, and educational equity.
Preferred:
• Experience teaching in a bilingual or dual language setting.
• Knowledge of early literacy development, structured literacy, and Science of Reading practices.
• Experience working with multilingual learners.
