The teacher creates engaging learning experiences that develop students' musical knowledge and skills while supporting Arlington's commitment to academic excellence, inclusion, and student belonging. Key Responsibilities * Plan and deliver standards-aligned music instruction for students in grades K–4. * Develop students' skills in singing, rhythm, movement, music appreciation, performance, and basic music theory. * Create engaging, culturally responsive learning experiences that reflect students' backgrounds and experiences. * Establish strong classroom routines, procedures, and expectations that maximize learning time. * Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported. * Use assessment data to monitor student progress and inform instruction. * Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and school leaders to support student success. * Participate in CPT, PLCs, coaching cycles, and professional development. * Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and performance. * Support schoolwide initiatives, events, and performances as appropriate. Qualifications Required * Massachusetts Music Teacher License (Vocal/Instrumental/General Music: All Levels). * Strong content knowledge in music education and child development. * Ability to create engaging learning environments that support diverse learners. * Commitment to educational equity and student achievement. Preferred *Experience teaching elementary music. * Experience working with multilingual learners and culturally diverse student populations. * Bilingual (Spanish-English) candidates encouraged to apply. * Experience planning student performances and schoolwide arts events.
