Position Summary
The Grade 1 Teacher provides high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that supports students' academic, linguistic, and social-emotional development. The teacher creates a safe, engaging classroom environment and works collaboratively with colleagues and families to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver standards-aligned instruction using district-approved curriculum.
* Use assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
* Establish strong classroom routines, procedures, and expectations.
* Implement evidence-based literacy practices.
* Create an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment.
* Collaborate through CPT, PLCs, coaching cycles, and professional development.
* Build strong partnerships with families.
* Participate in MTSS, IEP, and 504 meetings, as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required
* Massachusetts Elementary Teacher License.
* Commitment to educational equity and student achievement.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred
* Experience teaching elementary students.
* Experience working with multilingual learners.
* Knowledge of structured literacy and Science of Reading practices.
* Bilingual (Spanish-English) candidates encouraged to apply.
