Position Summary
The School Counselor provides comprehensive social-emotional, behavioral, and academic support services to students. The counselor partners with families, educators, and community agencies to promote student well-being, remove barriers to learning, and foster a positive school climate.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide individual and small-group counseling services to students.
* Support students experiencing social-emotional, behavioral, attendance, or academic challenges.
* Participate in crisis response, safety planning, and risk assessments.
* Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and community providers to coordinate supports.
* Facilitate student support meetings and contribute to MTSS, 504, and IEP processes, as appropriate.
* Implement schoolwide social-emotional learning and prevention initiatives.
* Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation.
* Participate in CPT, PLCs, coaching cycles, and professional development.
Qualifications
Required
* Massachusetts School Counselor License (PreK–8 or All Levels).
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
* Commitment to educational equity and student well-being.
Preferred
* Experience working in an elementary school setting.
* Experience supporting multilingual learners and culturally diverse student populations.
* Bilingual (Spanish-English) candidates encouraged to apply.
* Experience with MTSS, restorative practices, and trauma-informed approaches.

Salary : $56,415 - $84,063
