Position Summary
The Recruitment Coordinator supports the university's talent acquisition and onboarding efforts by managing the full recruitment cycle and ensuring a smooth transition for new hires. This role coordinates job postings, candidate screening, and referrals, while also leading onboarding activities such as offer preparation, documentation collection, and orientation scheduling. The position ensures compliance with federal and state employment regulations and serves as a key point of contact for new employees.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Recruitment Duties
Manage the full recruitment cycle for exempt and nonexempt positions, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, and referrals.
Prepare recruitment-related documents and reports.
Track applicants and maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
Coordinate with recruiting sources to attract qualified candidates.
Create job advertisements across appropriate platforms.
Oversee the internal employee transfer process.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to hiring, I-9, and E-Verify.
Collaborate with HR team members and hiring managers to support recruitment strategies and timelines.
Onboarding Duties
Collect required documentation such as tax forms (e.g., I-9s) and other government compliance forms.
Facilitate and monitor background checks and reference checks.
Send welcome emails or packets detailing first-day logistics, orientation instructions, and initial expectations.
Coordinate with IT, facilities, and hiring managers to ensure equipment and workspaces are ready.
Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during onboarding.
Update ATS and HRIS systems to reflect new hire status and ensure data accuracy.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations related to the hiring process, including I-9, E-Verify, and applicant tracking requirements.
Skills in utilizing technology (word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications) to accurately input, manage, retrieve, and compile data.
Ability to manage recruitment and onboarding lifecycles.
Ability to coordinate complex, multi-step processes while maintaining high attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
Ability to serve as primary point of contact for applicants, new hires, and internal partners.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent years experience in HR related duties
Proficiency with applicant tracking systems or Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in Banner or a human resources information system (HRIS).
Experience in a higher education environment.
Experience in recruitment and onboarding, preferably in a higher education setting.
Knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements (e.g., I-9, E-Verify).
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
The position is in an office setting on the ATU Russellville campus. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, stand, walk, reach, bend.
