Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Wellness, this position coordinates and administers computer-based and paper-based testing programs, ensuring that requirements for the administration of standardized tests are satisfied and that all restricted materials are kept secure. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month position.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Administering tests and coordinating the administration of tests.
Interacting and corresponding with testing agencies, internal departments, faculty, and test takers.
Scheduling and coordination of personnel, materials, and technical resources.
Hiring, training, directing, and evaluating test supervisors, proctors, and student workers.
Resolution of problems and irregularities that occur during testing and the preparation of irregularity reports.
Maintain the highest level of test security, following all policies for storing and administering exams.
Orchestrate the University's accommodated testing, training faculty and students as needed to complete their roles in the accommodated testing process.
Maintaining accurate and complete records, logs, and calendars as required.
Recommending, implementing, and maintaining appropriate procedures and policies for testing programs.
Assisting with the preparation of testing program reports as required by the department, University, state, and federal government.
Assisting instructors with the administration of make-up exams for the general student population.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large groups of students and test candidates.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and interact in a positive and confident manner with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
Demonstrates strong written communication skills.
Ability to supervise student workers and direct other employees during test administration and preparation.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite including the demonstrated ability to set up and work with spreadsheets and databases in Microsoft Excel.
Basic technical skills included changing computer settings, installing software, etc.
Ability to work varied hours, including frequent weekend hours and occasional early morning and evening hours as required.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 1-year related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of testing programs and procedures, including computer-based testing, accommodated testing, placement testing, etc.
Experience within a university testing center or other testing center.
Strong history of independent, detailed, accurate process-driven work.
Attention to detail in verbal and written communications.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
This position reports to the office on the university campus. Occasional night and weekend hours will be required to fulfill the job duties, as well as the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
