Superintendent – Interior Finishes
Summary:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing interior up-fit work with interior trades such as drywall, framing, ceilings, flooring, millwork, painting and other specialty contractors. Deliver completed buildings to Project Ownership – on schedule, meeting or exceeding safety and quality standards and established budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and sequence interior trades to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery.
- Review millwork shop drawings and finish plans to mitigate future conflicts with MEP trades.
- Ensure all punch list and warranty work is handled effectively by responsible subcontractors and suppliers.
- Lead, coordinate, direct and schedule the work of subcontractors to minimize conflicts and rework.
- Design and establish checklists for inspection, quality control and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain and update detailed look ahead schedules focused on trade sequencing, inspections and turn-over milestones.
- Motivate subcontractors and others to top performance.
- Check vendors’ invoices and authorize payments of subcontractors and material suppliers by the accounting department in accordance with Company policies.
- Lead fellow employees by example.
- Establish and enforce safety measures by being familiar with OSHA standards and regulations.
- Perform weekly safety meetings with staff and subs and document attendance and material covered.
- Inspect and verify quantity and quality of all materials and supplies.
- Act as liaison between Owner and others as directed.
- Solve problems within assigned authority and when necessary, work with other employees to accomplish needed tasks.
- Make quick, accurate decisions when necessary and take responsibility for decisions.
- Produce and update weekly production reports, time cards and other records.
- Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the company and the builder.
- Maintain a good operating relationship with subcontractors, employees, material suppliers, inspectors, management, company personnel and the general public.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of construction experience in a superintendent role focused on interiors projects.
- Experience with complex new build projects with emphasis on hospitality venues.
- Extensive experience with high-end finishes (custom millwork, wood flooring, stone work, etc..).
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office suite.
This role is 100% on-site, currently in Sandy Ridge, NC
