Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and coordinate commercial construction projects from the ground up. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, and extensive construction site experience. This role requires a thorough understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and safety standards to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for supervising onsite personnel, managing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing the on-site construction team and sub-contractors.
- Coordinating and overseeing all work on site.
- Attending production meetings.
- Reviewing and becoming familiar with the project plans and specifications, project schedule and budget, and ensuring adherence to these.
- Ensuring quality standards are met.
- Responsible for equipment and materials on site and working closely with the project manager for material procurement.
- Following the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met.
- Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
- Maintaining records for site personnel such as daily field reports, field orders, and RFIs.
- Liaising with inspection authorities regarding approvals.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or greater (preferred).
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (preferred).
- Ability to work in all weather (within reason).
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- 5 years experience as a construction superintendent or construction laborer
- Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
