Job Description And Salary
ArentFox Schiff LLP is seeking a patent attorney or patent agent with five or more years of experience to join our Intellectual Property practice in San Francisco. The successful candidate will draft and prosecute U.S. and worldwide patent applications in a client-facing role requiring direct engagement with inventors, and scientists. For attorney candidates, this is a non-partnership track position. A bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Patent Bar registration, and demonstrated expertise in wireless telecommunications — including 5G/6G and WiFi — are required. Strong written, oral, and organizational skills are essential. Current experience preparing patent applications for Qualcomm is highly preferred, and additional experience in areas such as power devices, analog circuits, medical devices, software, mechanical devices, or 3D printing is a plus. ArentFox Schiff offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. Interested candidates should submit a resume, transcripts, and a patent application writing sample.
The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $160,000 to a maximum of $300,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive bonus program with opportunities for discretionary incentives that may include productivity, business development, and merit-based components, subject to applicable policies.
