Principal, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP)

A national building systems engineering group is seeking a Principal level or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for its Honolulu office. This is a key leadership role with high visibility, hands on project oversight, client interaction, and responsibility for guiding mechanical design teams across complex projects.

What You Will Do
- Lead mechanical design for MEP projects across commercial, medical, education, transportation, hospitality, and retail sectors
- Serve as engineer of record on drawings, specifications, calculations, and system analysis
- Guide and mentor mechanical design staff
- Provide construction administration and site observations for assigned projects
- Partner with clients and internal teams to deliver high quality solutions
- Support both new and existing client relationships to grow the mechanical practice
What You Bring
Required
- BSME
- Ten or more years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design
- Leadership or management experience
- Project management background in the MEP environment
- Healthcare design experience including HCAI
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Deep understanding of codes and mechanical system design
Preferred
- Ten to fifteen years of experience in increasing leadership roles
- Advanced HVAC knowledge in healthcare, commercial, and educational buildings
- Familiarity with major industry standards and guidelines
