Responsibilities
- Provide plant support to achieve and maintain environmental compliance with the following which include but are not limited to: Emissions and Toxics Release Inventories, Green House Gas, Hazardous Waste, and Discharge Monitoring Reporting, Contingency Emergency, Spill Response, and Storm Water Prevention Plans, Emissions Testing, and Continuous Emissions and Opacity Monitoring System (CEMS and COMS) requirements and certifications
- Support auditing of plants and corporate Environmental Management Systems, Sustainability Systems and Key Performance Indicators, and compliance with permits, federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations
- Support the development, monitoring, and implementation of the Corporate ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, Sustainability Data Management Systems, and Waste, Water, and Emission reduction programs
- Assist in the development and implementation of regulatory, permit, and environmental management-specific training, procedures, policies, and practices
- Effectively track and communicate progress on all work assignments so that customers/coworkers know needs are being addressed and regulatory deadlines met
- Support and assist in resolving environmental Continuous Emissions and Opacity Monitoring System issues to ensure regulatory emissions monitoring and reporting obligations are met
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years of work experience that demonstrates a solid knowledge of environmental laws, policies, and management procedures
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated; Ability to make independent, informed, and prioritized decisions with minimal supervision
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environment Sciences, or a related field
- Three (3) years of work experience in the glass industry
- Professional environmental certifications
- Experience with management and tracking of capital projects
- Operational knowledge of Emission Control Devices and Continuous Emissions and Opacity Monitoring Systems
- Ability to interpret environmental and operational data using statistical computer programs
