Essential Functions
· Underwrite Bridge, Renovation & Construction Loans in accordance with the generally understood underwriting guidelines and practices of commercial banks and BPL/private lenders.
· Understand an evaluate risk in business strategy experience and the overall project.
· Prepare extensive credit authorization memorandums setting forth a summary of loan terms, underwriting calculations, transaction strengths and weaknesses as well as the underwriter’s assessment of the borrower/sponsor, collateral and an in-depth analysis of loan structuring and credit enhancement that mitigate any recognized risks.
· Reviews and analyzes appraisal, environmental site assessment, title reports, property condition assessments, and (if applicable) seismic risk assessments and other collateral related due-diligence materials for multifamily properties.
· Independently analyze historical operating statements, rent rolls, rental agreements, service contracts, management agreements, operating and capital expenditure budgets to develop an underwriter’s cash flow analysis in an effort to make sound credit decisions.
· Perform market assessments and collateral valuations of commercial multifamily assets through sales comparison & income approach analysis.
· Conduct credit and real estate analysis, processing incoming exhibits and preparing final delivery of investor packages. Preparation of Borrower credit analysis including determination of net worth, liquidity, overall financial strength and acceptability of proposed borrower structure.
· Collaborate with loan officers, credit analysts, loan processors and closers to make effective teamwork an essential element of our loan platform.

Education and Experience
· A BS/BA from and accredited College/University (degree in accounting, finance, economics or real estate preferred).
· Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial/multifamily underwriting and real estate financing
· 2 years experience underwriting business purpose and/or multifamily, commercial lending.
· 2 years experience reviewing guarantor and borrower background reports, valuation analysis, including entity documentation to determine ownership and borrower structure.
· Proficient at reviewing title, surveys and legal descriptions
· Formal Bank Credit Training is a plus but not required
