SOFTWARE ENGINEER: Systems & Internal Platforms | Technology

Salary Range: $125,000- $145,000
Summary:
We are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong background in cloud application development and analytics-driven engineering. This role will design, build, and scale internal systems and integrations that power business operations and data intelligence. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of software development, cloud infrastructure, and analytics, ensuring every product and service delivers measurable impact through reliability, scalability, and insight.
Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications and APIs that support both operational workflows and analytical insights.
- Build and enhance backend services (Python, Node.js, or Java) that automate processes and integrate internal systems with third-party platforms.
- Collaborate with Data, Analytics, and Product teams to develop data pipelines, event models, and service architectures that enable data-driven decisions.
- Embed metrics, logging, and observability within applications to ensure measurable system performance and transparency.
- Apply an analytics-informed approach to development—ensuring features include instrumentation, KPI tracking, and event logging from the start.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident-response frameworks to guarantee reliability and uptime.
- Develop lightweight internal tools or admin UIs (e.g., Retool) to empower non-technical teams with actionable insights.
- Champion clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, emphasizing long-term scalability, performance, and analytical visibility.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand designs and requirements.
- Solutions Engineering, Data, and Product—to continuously improve system design, integrations, and development workflows.
Competencies/Skills:
- Proficiency in backend languages and frameworks (Python, Node.js, or Java).
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and scalable architectures (e.g., Azure App Services, AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Run).
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and modern CI/CD azure dev ops, familiarity with front end like FAST API.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic).
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and data contracts.
- Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes, with the ability to translate analytical needs into technical solutions.
- Experience working with analytics and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Retool, or similar).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Nice to Have: Experience with Salesforce integration (SOQL, Bulk APIs, or Platform Events). Eagerness to learn, adapt, and think both operationally and strategically in a dynamic environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3 years of professional software engineering experience with exposure to data analytics, insights, or platform observability.
- Proven success in building data-informed systems or platforms that integrate analytics into product and engineering workflows.
