Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and warmly as they arrive, making them feel valued from the moment they step through the door
- Manage reservation bookings efficiently using POS systems, and coordinate seating to optimize flow and guest satisfaction
- Maintain waitlists, provide accurate wait time estimates, and communicate effectively with guests about their seating status
- Assist with guest inquiries over the phone, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and guest relations skills
- Support the dining team by managing guest flow during busy hours and ensuring tables are cleared and reset quickly
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to accommodate special requests or needs, enhancing overall guest experience
- Uphold cleanliness standards in the host stand area and ensure a welcoming environment at all times
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced food service or restaurant setting
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
- Familiarity with POS systems; hotel or hospitality experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food service operations and guest relations best practices
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure
- Exceptional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to connect with diverse guests
- Basic understanding of restaurant operations, including reservation management and guest seating procedures
