Tasting Room Associate

Job Summary

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide engaging tours of the tasting room and winery facilities
• Conduct tastings by expertly pouring wines or beverages, explaining flavor profiles, and answering guest questions
• Upsell products by recommending wine pairings, merchandise, or special experiences to enhance guest enjoyment
• Manage point-of-sale transactions using systems such as Orderport or Toast, including cash handling and credit card processing
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Assist with menu planning for tastings or special events, collaborating with culinary teams when necessary
• Support catering or banquet events by serving food and beverages professionally and efficiently

Requirements

• Previous experience in restaurant service or food industry roles is highly preferred, especially in fine dining or catering environments
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Orderport or Toast for sales transactions
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic approach to guest interactions
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
• Experience in serving, bartending, or banquet service is advantageous
• Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive guest experience
• Culinary experience or meal preparation skills are a plus for assisting with tasting menu planning or event support
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role
