Position Overview:
The Tax Manager will oversee complex tax engagements across a network of acquired firms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional client service. This individual will play a critical role in team leadership, strategic planning, and client relationship management as we continue to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts across multiple entities
- Lead a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and performance feedback
- Ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and PE-backed reporting requirements
- Collaborate with firm leadership and acquired firm partners to streamline tax operations and maintain quality standards
- Identify tax planning opportunities and proactively advise clients on strategies to minimize tax liabilities
- Review financial statements and coordinate closely with accounting teams
- Oversee and refine internal processes to improve efficiency and consistency across entities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for complex client inquiries and escalated issues
Qualifications:
- Active CPA or EA license (required)
- 5 years of progressive public accounting or corporate tax experience
- Experience managing a team and leading multiple client engagements
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. tax code, compliance requirements, and tax planning strategies
- Familiarity with tax software such as CCH, UltraTax, or similar platforms
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
