The teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in English Language Arts for students in Grades 3–5 while serving as the 4th Grade Homeroom teacher. Job Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate ELA instruction aligned with diocesan, state, and national standards for Grades 3–5
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary using best instructional practices
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
- Integrate technology and literacy resources to enhance learning
- Serve as primary homeroom teacher for 4th grade students
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-filled classroom environment
- Oversee daily routines including attendance, morning prayer, announcements, and student organization
- Support students’ social-emotional growth and promote responsibility and self-discipline
- Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum and classroom activities
- Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies, Masses, and religious activities
- Uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility per diocesan/state requirements
- Experience teaching elementary ELA preferred
- Practicing Catholic preferred (or willingness to support and uphold Catholic teachings)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to Catholic education and faith formation
- Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment
- Strong organizational and instructional skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Professionalism, flexibility, and dedication to student success
