What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2019-2020 Dominion MS Grades 7th Grade ELA position at Columbus City Schools?
Candidate should
possess a 4-9 middle childhood education ELA and have ability to use data to
guide instructional differentiation planning for a diverse group of
learners and be willing to participate in weekly teacher based team
planning sessions. Candidate should have a willingness to understand the
implications of emotional trauma on learning and be willing to participate in
Nationwide Children's Hospital Trauma Informed Practices in August. Candidate
should have some experience in special needs inclusion. Candidate must be
willing to create STEM and project based learning experiences for their
students. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops each student’s skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing so that they are able to effectively communicate. Assists student’s in the development for an appreciation and understanding of all types of literature that motivates students to enjoy reading for information and recreation. Evaluates each student’s progress in meeting the course standards for English skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
