Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Traffic Modeling or Missile Tracking System Engineer role in Scottsdale, Arizona, with hybrid options available.
Location: Scottsdale, AZ — Hybrid options available
Position: Traffic Modeling or Missile Tracking System Engineer
Contract Length: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $73.51 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field; 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
Clearance Requirement: Secret security clearance
Schedule: First Shift
In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Develop and validate traffic models for satellite constellations and ground networks, ensuring efficient data flow and communication protocols.
- Decompose system requirements into detailed architecture, interfaces, and behaviors for missile tracking or traffic modeling systems.
- Analyze missile tracking data from satellite sensors, performing data fusion and validation to support rapid decision-making.
- Design algorithms and system logic to solve complex problems related to satellite service scheduling, sensor fusion, and RF communication protocols.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate AI and machine learning techniques for system optimization and continuous improvement.
- Support system integration, testing, and maintenance of ground operational systems for the Space Force’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Recent experience modeling satellite-to-ground RF communication data, including end-to-end packet prioritization and routing.
- Proven expertise in designing and developing missile tracking systems, including sensor fusion and algorithm development.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and their application in defense system deployment.
- Experience with image processing, data handling, and storage solutions relevant to missile and satellite data.
- Strong understanding of satellite scheduling, situational awareness, and RF communication protocols.
- Ability to apply AI/ML techniques for system enhancement and operational efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on complex aerospace and defense systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field
- 5 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 3 years of experience
- Agile experience preferred
