Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will be responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware. To be considered, you will have an Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related plus a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Contract: 24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $75.28/hour DOE
Schedule: Onsite
We are seeking an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware. You will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems.
What you’ll experience:
- You will engage in all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, routing constraints definition, PCB/PWB routing oversight, and support for manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification.
- We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: use of lab test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment, experience designing PCBs/PWBs using Siemens Xpedition, and knowledge of VITA/VPX standards including VITA 46 and 65.
What sets you apart:
- Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment.
- An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test.
- Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint definition, and signal integrity/power integrity analysis.
- Experience designing PCBs/PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10G Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4 , etc.)
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, breaking down complex technical problems logically and finding efficient solutions.
- Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
- Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively.
