Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Digital Hardware Design Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will support the development of secure, mission-critical hardware used in tactical and defense communication systems. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience). U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Design and develop digital hardware for tactical and defense communication systems
- Perform schematic capture and PCB/PWB layout for digital subsystems
- Work with ARM processors, microcontrollers, and high-speed memory interfaces (DDR3, DDR4, LPDDR4)
- Design and integrate digital interfaces such as I2C, SPI, and SDIO
- Support hardware bring-up, debug, and verification using laboratory test equipment
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams
- Support the full product lifecycle including design for manufacturing and design for test
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Secret clearance obtainable
- Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- Digital schematic capture and PCB/PWB layout experience
- Experience with high-speed digital design and memory interfaces
- Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
- Experience with Siemens Xpedition or similar EDA tools
- Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycle (DFM/DFT)
- Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity analysis
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to collaborate across cross-functional engineering teams
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers is a plus
