We are seeking a Quality DFC / NPI Engineer for a contract opportunity in Fremont, CA, supporting advanced PCBA manufacturing within the electronics, components, and semiconductor manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for a quality, manufacturing, or electronics engineering professional with experience in conformal coating, polymeric applications, and New Product Introduction activities.
The Quality DFC / NPI Engineer will help ensure customer board designs, technical data packages, and process requirements are aligned with IPC, MIL, NASA, and other applicable manufacturing standards before release to production. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with quality, engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customer-facing teams in a collaborative environment focused on technical excellence, process improvement, and reliable product outcomes.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical review, cross-functional problem solving, customer engagement, and supporting continuous quality improvement across complex PCBA manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Design for Conformal Coating reviews for new and existing PCB assemblies, including manufacturability assessments and technical risk evaluations.
- Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, technical data packages, and workmanship requirements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Evaluate PCBA design requirements against IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, IPC-CC-830, MIL, NASA, and other applicable standards.
- Support NPI builds, first article readiness activities, masking methods, coating application strategies, and manufacturing release preparation.
- Document DFC review findings, technical risks, mitigation recommendations, and process requirements in JIRA.
- Partner with sales, quality, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to resolve design-related concerns, support RCCA investigations, and improve process standardization.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $40 to $50 per hour.
