The Role We’re looking for an HR Business Partner I to help build the foundation of our HR function. This is a hands-on role focused on day-to-day people operations, compliance, employee relations, and shaping a healthy, scalable workplace culture. You’ll partner closely with leadership and employees as the organization continues to grow. ?? Key Responsibilities HR Operations & Compliance• Build and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, job descriptions, and SOPs• Ensure compliance with federal and California employment laws• Manage employee records, documentation, and confidentiality standards• Coordinate and track required state and federal trainings Employee Relations & Support• Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers• Coach leaders on performance conversations, corrective action, and communication• Support resolution of employee concerns and conflicts• Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability Talent Acquisition & Onboarding• Support recruiting efforts including job postings, screening, and interviews• Develop a structured, welcoming onboarding experience• Manage offers, background checks, and new-hire documentation Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience• Partner with leadership to assess and strengthen workplace culture• Support engagement, recognition, and feedback initiatives• Ensure culture aligns with company values and high-performance standards HR Systems, Reporting & Process Development• Support HRIS and onboarding platforms• Build HR templates, workflows, and scalable processes• Track basic HR metrics (turnover, compliance, reporting)• Recommend process improvements as the company grows ? Qualifications Required:• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or equivalent experience• 3–4 years of hands-on HR experience• Working knowledge of hiring, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations• Strong understanding of California employment laws• Excellent communication skills with a calm, solutions-oriented approach• Highly organized with strong attention to confidentiality Preferred:• Experience in a small or fast-growing organization• Exposure to HRIS platforms• Ability to coach managers on people-related topics• Experience supporting culture and engagement initiatives ??
