About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations within a stable and growing company in the commercial/industrial manufacturing industry. This role will focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll support, while maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP)
Enter and update vendor invoices in accounting software (Sage 50 preferred)
Prepare payment checks and related reports in a timely manner
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Enter and process customer invoices
Send invoices and follow up on outstanding balances
Process daily cash receipts (checks, wires, and other payments)
Communicate with customers regarding unpaid invoices
Reconciliations & Reporting
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintain accurate sub-ledgers and financial records
Payroll Support
Assist with payroll processing by verifying timecards, overtime, and PTO
Administrative Support
Maintain and organize filing systems (physical and digital)
Assist with general office support, including seminars or special events
Carry and organize files/boxes (up to 10 lbs as needed)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
1–3 years of accounting experience
Experience with AP/AR and basic accounting functions
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Must be local to the Irvine area
