A growing and well-established organization in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a variety of Human Resources functions including employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, HR compliance, onboarding, and HR operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Human Resources professional who enjoys working across multiple HR disciplines in a true HR Generalist role. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting employees and leadership, maintaining HR processes, and ensuring compliance with California employment laws. Some payroll exposure or coordination with payroll processing is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, employee relations, and Human Resources support
Support employee relations, including performance management, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations when necessary
Assist with recruiting and talent acquisition, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communication
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a positive employee experience
Maintain employee records and ensure accurate data within the HRIS system
Assist with benefits administration, including employee enrollments, changes, and employee benefit questions
Support payroll coordination, including employee status changes, time-off tracking, and payroll data review (payroll experience preferred)
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and California labor laws
Assist with HR compliance initiatives, policy updates, and employee handbook maintenance
Support HR programs including employee engagement, training, and performance review processes
Qualifications
2 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist, HR Generalist, or HR Business Partner support role
Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance
Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, HRIS systems, and benefits administration
Exposure to payroll processing or payroll coordination preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple HR priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
