Job Summary
The Starbucks Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Applegeen is a leadership role responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The AGM supports the store manager in managing staff, controlling inventory, and implementing company policies to foster a positive work environment and achieve operational excellence. Duties
- Lead and supervise store staff, including training, coaching, and evaluating team performance to ensure excellent customer service.
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality control measures.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and sales processing.
- Control inventory levels, monitor stock rotation, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal product availability.
- Supervise daily operations including shift management, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in managing food production processes, catering services, and bar operations when applicable.
- Implement training & development programs for staff to enhance skills in food handling, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Support restaurant management functions such as budgeting, cost control, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Foster a welcoming environment that promotes teamwork, hospitality, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in interviewing prospective team members and contribute to staff hiring decisions.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service management with a background in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining environments.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling expertise required.
- Excellent leadership skills with supervising experience in hospitality or restaurant management roles.
- Ability to manage inventory control, food safety protocols, and kitchen operations effectively.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence.
- Experience with staff training & development, team management, and shift supervision.
- Familiarity with culinary practices, food production, catering, and bar operations preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Leadership qualities that promote a positive team environment; experience in interviewing and hiring staff is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the food industry trends including culinary experience, hotel or banquet experience is a plus.
