The HRBP also supports HR initiatives across additional sites, contributing to business communications, HRIS data integrity, and employee lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
Site HR Generalist & Business Partnership
- Act as the primary HR contact for all employees and leaders at the Santa Clarita facility.
- Partner with the Plant Manager and leadership team to align HR strategies with operational, cultural, and business objectives.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support for employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolutions.
- Oversee performance management processes including goal-setting, mid-year and annual reviews, corrective actions, and professional development.
- Support organizational design, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for the facility, including hourly production roles and salaried professional roles.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, define hiring needs, and create effective recruitment strategies.
- Source candidates, manage applicant screening and interview processes, and ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and engaging start.
- Maintain partnerships with local workforce agencies, community organizations, and trade schools to support pipeline development.
- Serve as the site lead for HRIS accuracy, maintenance, and data integrity across all employee lifecycle activities (hiring, promotions, transfers, separations).
- Prepare HR reports and dashboards, analyze workforce trends, and provide insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Maintain personnel files, compliance documentation, and HR records in accordance with company policies and California regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for the site, including entry of hours, audits, corrections, and coordination with corporate payroll.
- Troubleshoot HRIS and payroll-related issues resolve system concerns.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on company benefits and support employees with benefits questions, enrollment, and issue resolution.
- Manage disability claims, workers’ compensation coordination, FMLA/CFRA, and other leave programs; act as the liaison between employees, managers, and third-party administrators.
- Support HR communications across multiple sites, including developing content for town halls, newsletters, and company-wide announcements.
- Ensure consistent application of HR programs, policies, and procedures across supported sites.
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws, safety regulations, wage & hour rules, and internal company policies.
- Partner with EHS and site leadership to reinforce safety culture and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain HR operational excellence by ensuring timely documentation, policy adherence, and continuous improvement of HR processes.
- Lead site-level employee engagement strategy, partnering with leadership to foster a positive, inclusive, high-performance workplace culture.
- Coordinate and facilitate engagement activities such as recognition programs, appreciation events, team-building activities, and milestone celebrations.
- Manage the employee engagement survey process—launch, data analysis, communication of results, and action-planning with leaders.
- Monitor engagement trends, turnover indicators, and employee feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.
- Champion initiatives that support employee well-being, morale, communication transparency, and a culture of trust and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law, wage & hour, workers’ compensation, leave programs, and payroll requirements.
- Experience with full-cycle recruiting, hourly and salaried hiring, and onboarding.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, data reporting, and HR analytics.
- Experience processing or coordinating payroll in a multi-shift or production environment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with experience producing employee communications.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work onsite in a high-paced manufacturing setting.
