Aplós Front of House (FOH) Manager – Restaurant Responsibilities & Role
Leadership & Reporting
- Reports directly to the General Manager (GM).
- Oversees all daily operations of the front of house.
- Acts as Manager-on-Duty when the GM is unavailable, ensuring smooth FOH operations and decision-making.
- Enforces company standards, policies, and procedures across FOH staff.
Operational Responsibilities
- Ensures day-to-day FOH operations run efficiently.
- Monitors guest service standards, cleanliness, and product quality in the dining and bar areas.
- Coordinates FOH shift execution to maintain consistency and adherence to company standards.
- Handles escalated guest concerns in the absence of the GM.
Financial Accountability
- Assists the GM in achieving financial goals including labor, COGS, and sales targets.
- Assists in FOH scheduling and labor adjustments to remain within budgeted goals.
- Supports the GM in monitoring daily sales, cost reports, and implementing corrective actions when needed.
Staffing, HR & Culture
- Assists with recruiting, onboarding, and training new FOH employees.
- Conducts performance reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions under GM direction.
- Promotes a positive and productive workplace culture consistent with company values.
- Leads FOH pre-shift meetings and communicates goals clearly to team members.
Inventory & Ordering
- Supports the GM and bar team with FOH-related inventory counts and ordering.
- Monitors usage and waste in FOH to help control costs.
- Ensures proper receiving and storage of FOH-related products.
Training & Development
- Coaches FOH supervisors and hourly team members during shifts to improve performance.
- Supports the GM in FOH training programs.
- Prepares for future promotion opportunities by demonstrating leadership and accountability.
Compliance & Safety
- Assists the GM in maintaining compliance with all health, sanitation, labor, and alcohol laws.
- Ensures daily FOH safety and sanitation procedures are followed by all employees.
- Supports preparation for health inspections and company audits.
Accountability
- Directly accountable to the GM and responsible for executing GM directives within FOH.
- Acts as the bridge between FOH staff and senior management.
- Helps ensure the restaurant meets financial, operational, and service goals.
