Apera is supporting an aerospace company building all electric aircraft, and we are looking for a Senior Simulation Software Engineer to support integrated test and simulation environments.
This role sits at the intersection of software, hardware, and systems. You will be working on high fidelity simulators used for validation, testing, and pilot training in a real time hardware in the loop environment.
What you will be doing
- Develop and maintain high fidelity simulation models for aircraft systems
- Integrate software and hardware in HIL environments
- Build and maintain real time simulation frameworks
- Develop user interfaces to control simulation environments
- Support test execution, automation, and validation activities
- Manage version control and configuration across lab environments
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers
What we are looking for
- 6 years of experience in simulation or software engineering
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related
- Experience with HIL platforms (NI, dSPACE, etc.)
- Strong experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Python
- Experience modeling physical systems
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, ARINC, Ethernet, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD, version control, and issue tracking tools
- Comfortable working in integrated hardware/software environments
