AP Executive Staffing is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in the Buffalo area seeking a Controls Engineer to join their engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to work on automation, controls programming, equipment improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities :
- Design, program, commission, and maintain automated control systems
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs to support manufacturing equipment
- Read, interpret, and create electrical schematics and control drawings
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on automation and process improvement projects
- Design and implement control solutions for new and existing equipment
- Program and troubleshoot HMI systems and motion control applications
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls-related equipment issues
- Create and maintain documentation including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Support integration of sensors, drives, motors, and other automation components into manufacturing systems
- Assist with electrical control panel design, assembly, and implementation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable regulations
- Manage multiple projects while supporting ongoing production needs
- Participate in continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
Qualifications :
- Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing environments
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Experience with HMI programming and control system development
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams
- Experience with servo motion control systems preferred
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
Salary : $70,000 - $125,000
