Facilities Technician (HVAC / Electrical Systems Focus)

About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled Facilities Technician with a strong background in HVAC, electrical systems, and general building maintenance. This role focuses on keeping critical building systems operating safely and reliably through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.
While the environment includes some data center infrastructure, the core of this role is facility systems maintenance—especially HVAC, power, and environmental systems that keep operations running 24/7.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, working with their hands, and taking ownership of building systems reliability.
What You’ll DoHVAC & Mechanical Systems
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on HVAC systems, rooftop units, and air handling systems
- Monitor system performance to ensure proper airflow, temperature, and humidity control
- Respond to HVAC failures and urgent environmental issues, including after-hours support when needed
- Coordinate with external HVAC vendors for major repairs and system upgrades
Electrical & Facility Systems
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting of facility electrical systems and power distribution
- Inspect and maintain standby generators, including fuel systems, batteries, and cooling systems
- Perform general facility repairs including minor electrical and plumbing work
- Conduct routine inspections of critical building systems to prevent downtime
General Facilities Maintenance
- Perform day-to-day maintenance tasks including repairs, painting, and building upkeep
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized mechanical rooms, storage areas, and workspaces
- Assist with facility improvement projects and system upgrades as needed
Data Center & Technical Environment Support (Secondary Focus)
- Assist with rack preparation and basic infrastructure support for customer deployments
- Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity in technical spaces
- Perform routine checks on cooling and power systems supporting IT infrastructure
Safety, Compliance & Operations
- Follow all safety procedures and operational standards
- Participate in inspections, maintenance audits, and safety training
- Support emergency response activities for facility-related incidents
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of experience in HVAC, electrical maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related trade
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, generators, and building infrastructure
- Trade certification or technical schooling preferred (not required)
- Ability to work independently and respond to after-hours emergencies when needed
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in mechanical/facility environments
- Organized, reliable, and safety-focused
