Job Title: Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the Behavioral Health unit. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and supporting performance improvement initiatives in collaboration with leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Behavioral Health unit
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Supervise clinical staff and support interdisciplinary collaboration
- Monitor patient admissions, discharges, and care planning
- Lead performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities
- Prepare and analyze clinical and operational reports
- Support regulatory surveys and maintain accreditation readiness
- Oversee staffing, budgeting, and inventory management
- Promote a culture of professionalism, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement
- Provide administrative leadership and coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
- BSN from an accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience
- Minimum 5 years of psychiatric/behavioral health experience
- At least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Prior experience managing a psychiatric unit in a hospital setting (required)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., DOH, Joint Commission)
- Experience with quality improvement methodologies and healthcare systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Crisis Management Certification (e.g., PMCS, TRUST)
