What You Will Do
- Create and evolve foundational services that help engineering teams work with greater efficiency and predictability.
- Design and implement resilient systems that support high availability and smooth scaling as the platform grows.
- Build software that significantly improves latency, throughput, and stability across internal developer tooling and infrastructure.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and engineer solutions that unlock meaningful improvements in system capacity.
- Work with a broad range of technical tools such as Python, Go, Bash, Django, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL, Redis, Apache Pulsar, and ClickHouse to advance the platform.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams, contributing architectural insight and guiding best practices through reviews and shared design sessions.
- Serve as a trusted subject matter expert and help elevate engineering quality through mentorship, pairing, and thoughtful knowledge sharing.
- Promote robust engineering patterns that support performance, automated recovery, security minded development, and configuration as code.
- Participate in on call rotations with an emphasis on eliminating recurring issues and reducing operational noise.
- Partner with product focused engineers to deliver high impact improvements that enhance the entire development lifecycle.
- Use quantitative analysis to understand system behavior and guide scaling decisions, coordinating cross functional solutions when needed.
- Advocate for forward looking improvements and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to implement durable, upstream fixes.
- Make clear, data informed decisions within a dynamic environment that often carries competing priorities.
- Champion engineering excellence and help shape the technical culture across the organization.
- Degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of experience running and scaling distributed systems.
- Professional experience building software in languages such as Python, Ruby, or Go.
- Hands on experience contributing to engineering teams shipping production systems.
- Background working with developer productivity tools including local development environments, build pipelines, or CI and CD systems.
- Excitement for exploring emerging AI technologies and experimenting with new workflows to improve development efficiency.
