Position Overview
The Vice President of Finance (VP of Finance) provides strategic financial leadership and operational oversight to support the mission and long‑term sustainability of the organization. This executive role is responsible for financial planning, analysis, compliance, and reporting while serving as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors. The ideal candidate brings proven financial leadership experience in healthcare or nonprofit environments, strong strategic planning capabilities, and hands‑on expertise with modern financial systems—NetSuite ERP experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute long‑term financial strategies that support organizational growth and mission impact.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and Board on financial performance, risk management, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead multi‑year financial planning, forecasting, and capital allocation.
Financial Operations & Management
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audit management, treasury, and cash flow.
- Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Drive financial performance through data‑driven insights and operational efficiencies.
Systems & Technology
- Utilize NetSuite ERP system to improve financial reporting and drive financial excellence.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations, including healthcare reimbursement or nonprofit reporting requirements, as applicable.
- Oversee annual audits, tax filings (e.g., Form 990 where applicable), grant compliance, and internal controls.
- Establish and maintain sound financial policies and governance practices.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the finance function.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior‑level responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare finance and/or nonprofit financial management.
- Proven ability as a strategic planner with strong analytical and business acumen.
- Experience presenting complex financial information to executive leadership and Boards.
Preferred
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPA) or CPA designation.
- Strong working knowledge of NetSuite ERP or similar enterprise financial systems.
- Experience with grants, donor‑restricted funds, reimbursement models, or government funding.
