The U.S. subsidiary will focus on operational execution, market entry, and institutional engagement to strengthen Upbit’s presence and performance in the region.

Job Overview

The Executive Vice President, Regional Operations (EVP, Americas) will serve as a senior member of Upbit’s global executive leadership team, responsible for leading and managing all operational activities across the Americas.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the EVP will oversee market entry execution, operational management, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional coordination, ensuring that Upbit’s business objectives and global standards are successfully implemented in the region.

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced operations and strategy leader with deep knowledge of financial markets, digital asset ecosystems, and regulatory environments. They will have a proven ability to drive operational excellence, scale regional functions, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Operations Strategy & Leadership

Develop and execute Upbit’s operational strategy for the Americas, aligning regional initiatives with global objectives.

Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on market dynamics, operational performance, and regulatory developments.

Define operational KPIs, success metrics, and frameworks to measure efficiency, scalability, and business impact.

Ensure consistent execution of global policies, standards, and procedures across all regional operations.

Americas Market Expansion & Execution

Lead Upbit’s market entry and growth initiatives across the U.S. and broader Americas region.

Design and implement operational models, processes, and governance structures to support retail, institutional, and professional clients.

Collaborate with local stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry partners to ensure compliance and market readiness.

Represent Upbit at industry events, conferences, and strategic forums to build credibility and strengthen local relationships.

Operational Excellence & Risk Management

Oversee day-to-day operations, including trading infrastructure, customer support, compliance, and regional finance functions.

Implement scalable operational processes to optimize productivity, reduce risks, and maintain service quality.

Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence, AML/KYC compliance, and operational resilience.

Lead contingency planning and crisis management for the region to maintain continuity in volatile market conditions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with product, technology, marketing, and finance teams to ensure regional alignment with global initiatives.

Build, mentor, and lead high-performing regional teams, fostering accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.

Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across departments.

Ensure smooth knowledge transfer and alignment between regional operations and global headquarters.

Performance Analytics & Continuous Improvement

Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness.

Leverage data-driven insights to optimize workflows, enhance service delivery, and improve decision-making.

Support executive reporting to the CEO and board on regional performance, challenges, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Over 20 years of senior leadership experience in operations, strategy, or executive management roles within fintech, digital assets, or financial services.

Proven track record of managing complex regional operations, scaling business functions, and executing market expansion strategies.

Deep understanding of cryptocurrency trading ecosystems, institutional client requirements, and regulatory frameworks.

Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills with experience influencing executive-level decisions.

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations, or related discipline required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
