Position Overview: As a CNC Operator specializing in lathe and mill operations, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to produce precision components. Your expertise in both lathe and mill operations will be essential in interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate cutting tools, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the finished parts.Key Responsibilities:Machine Setup: Configure CNC machines according to job specifications, including loading raw materials and securing them in the machine's fixtures. Set up cutting tools and fixtures based on the requirements of the job.Programming: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to develop CNC programs. Use G-code and M-code commands to specify machining processes, tool paths, speeds, and feeds.Operation: Operate CNC lathe and mill machines to perform machining operations such as turning, drilling, milling, facing, and threading. Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and productivity.Quality Control: Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications. Make adjustments to machine settings or tooling as needed to maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes.Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor repairs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Properly handle and dispose of cutting fluids, chips, and other hazardous materials generated during machining operations.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine setup sheets, inspection reports, and tool usage logs.
