Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze construction project plans, blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents to understand the scope and requirements of the project.
  • Performing estimations for medium to large-scale projects independently and assisting with reviewing others.
  • Be able to perform in-depth take-offs fully and completely.
  • Be up to date with all market trends and keep the unit cost sheet updated accordingly.
  • Understand client requirements for turning in a successful bid package.
  • Be able to clarify inclusions and exclusions clearly.
  • Vet and qualify subcontractor and vendor bid proposals based upon scope of work and other factors.
  • Utilizing advanced data analysis for accurate cost forecasting and estimations.
  • Collaborating with other parties for effective estimation decisions.
  • Assisting in the mentoring and development of junior estimators.
  • Seeking new methods and tools to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.
  • Use multiple platforms to gather bids.
  • Ensure timely submission of bids to the clients.
  • Be able to compile and compare bid tabulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years in a senior estimating role.
  • Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimating techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to quality and safety.
