What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Kubernetes / AKS Platform Engineer position at Amsys Innovative Solutions?
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Kubernetes / Platform Engineer to support enterprise-scale Kubernetes environments across Azure AKS and on-prem infrastructure. This role focuses on production operations, troubleshooting, platform reliability, and Kubernetes administration in a large enterprise environment. Ideal candidates will have strong AKS experience, deep troubleshooting skills, and production support for containerized applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Kubernetes environments (AKS on-prem K8S)
- Troubleshoot production platform and networking issues
- Support ingress, routing, scaling, storage, and workload isolation
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Work with Helm, GitOps, and containerized workloads
- Partner with architecture and engineering teams on platform improvements
- Support cloud infrastructure and operational best practices
- Assist with emerging AI/ML platform workloads running on Kubernetes
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience (AKS preferred)
- Experience supporting production Kubernetes environments
- Kubernetes networking, ingress, RBAC, scaling, and troubleshooting
- Azure cloud infrastructure experience
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions)
- Helm and container deployment experience
- Linux and cloud operations background
- Experience with enterprise observability and monitoring tools
Nice to Have
- Rancher / K3s experience
- Service mesh exposure (Istio, Envoy, Linkerd)
- GitOps / ArgoCD
- AI/ML workload deployment experience
- Azure OpenAI / Azure Foundry exposure
