What are the responsibilities and job description for the Platform Specialist (Kubernetes) position at Squarepoint?
Kubernetes is the backbone that powers Squarepoint’s research and trading workflows. You’ll design and scale Kubernetes‑native orchestration used by hundreds of teams, and deliver platform capabilities that directly accelerate quant research moving into production. It’s high‑impact, hands‑on engineering with autonomy, strong mentorship, and clear paths for growth.
Impact: Our team owns cluster capacity and workflow orchestration that supports research delivery and trading deployments. Recent projects include developing a GPU‑quota operator, hardening ArgoCD, and implementing support for multicast networking.
Technical breadth: You’ll work across Kubernetes, Istio, Knative, ArgoCD, CI/CD, and the observability stack, contributing to end‑to‑end platform capabilities.
Way of working: You’ll own EPICs with the space to go deep while collaborating closely with Quant researchers and platform peers
Growth: Mentorship is built into the team, and there’s scope to rotate into adjacent areas as the platform continues to expand.
